Move into What’s Next

“I never thought I’d be here.  Now what?”  This thought rattled around my head when my life seemingly derailed.  I was speeding along but had no idea to where.  The tracks were gone and I was hurtling into a different future than planned.  Have you been on this same train?  If life doesn’t look like you envisioned, maybe it’s time to slow down, shift gears and find a new track.

I shifted gears then from wondering “why me” to “what’s next”.  I knew I couldn’t stay on this speeding train without direction, so I sought guidance from the One who knew the way.  I let go of “why me” and very quietly asked Him “what’s next”? God answered my little question in a big way. A small decision to seek and follow Him led to bigger steps. Those led to larger leaps and here we are together over ten years later.

Within my shift to “what’s next” was the realization it wasn’t all up to me.  This revelation lifted a heavy weight I no longer wanted to carry. God had a plan; I just needed to seek Him in a deeper way to find it. When my plan aligned with His, life became an adventure beyond my wildest dreams.  But I never did it alone; God walked with me every step of the way.  By no means is this plan fully known to me, even now. But I have found when I follow Him; each step leads to the next.

Life is not about the things or what of this world. It’s about the Who.  First and foremost, life is about my relationship with God and His plan for me.  This is found by following Him and seeking His will. But I don’t live in a vacuum and neither do you. We are meant to do life together with family, friends and all those God inserts into our days.

Choosing Jesus and other people over the things of this world is always a better choice.  Does this mean I don’t do the things I need to?  Not on your life! There are lots of things to do, but now which things I do flow from God’s plan, not mine.

My “what’s next” season helped me realize this truth.  I’m hoping I can help you find your “what’s next” plan, too.  This is part of the focus of my upcoming Spring into Wellness Challenge starting next Monday April 18.Spring into Wellness

The challenge will be just that: a challenge.  I’ll be challenging myself as much as all of you.  I need encouragement in my soul, mind and body wellness and maybe you do too.  Won’t you join me? I’ll help us all carve out moments of mind, body and soul wellness in our everyday lives.

Check out the details on the Spring into Wellness Challenge and sign up for four weeks of encouragement to jump start our wellness this Spring. I’ll offer inspiration, encouragement and tips which helped me and others on the path to wellness.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. ~Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
