Pause for Gratitude

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. ~ Colossians 3:15

Thankfulness.  It’s the focus of big celebratory feasts on Thursday, but is also what I feel towards God and all of you, who continue to journey with me. On this last post of our 2014 Fall Wellness Journey, I want to thank all of you.  For opening your emails, reading, commenting, sharing and thinking about these words I write.  With every post, I pray the words will encourage, help, or make one think. So thank you for following with me as I follow Him.

Following His footprints, I am continually reminded of how ever present God is in my life.  He set my feet on a path and when I seek to follow Him, that path becomes apparent. I feel strongly that our lives are meant to be a thank you for all we are given. One of the ways I say thanks to God is by putting words together to encourage others. I pray these words encourage you as much as I am encouraged by writing them.

I am also deeply humbled and thankful for all of your encouragement after my knee surgery.  I felt your prayers and am continuing to progress towards a fully functional knee. Wellness is not only about our bodies, however.  It’s also about our minds and most importantly our souls.  If you haven’t had time to get to all the wellness journey posts, take a moment to catch up on some on mind and soul wellness. Use the search my site box or click one of the tag words on the website. Maybe an idea will save your sanity this holiday season.

Speaking of the holiday season, let’s slow the general rush towards Christmas this year by taking a few moments to be thankful.  Maybe it’s the cold, the late date or because I host Thanksgiving, but it seems each year we leap over Thanksgiving without  pausing long enough to feel and give gratitude for what and who we have in our lives.pause for gratitude

Take a moment this week, before you shop, eat or put up your Christmas tree to personally give thanks to loved ones and those who give of themselves for you.  Give thanks to those who serve us in the many capacities we take for granted each day-pastors, teachers, store clerks or delivery persons.  Offer gratitude to parents, children and also the friends who are like family. Most importantly, give thanks to the One who has given all of this to you: God.

Thank you all for joining me on the Fall Wellness Journey.  I will be continuing to write frequently on wellness, following Him and its impact in my life.  It is my prayer these thoughts encourage you and if they do, please sign up to get them automatically &/or share with a friend who may also need encouragement.

My posts will not be as frequent over the holidays so as to be present with those I love this time of year.  But I will be writing.  These past wellness journeys have undeniably shown me that when I seek Him through writing He always shows up and speaks.  So stay tuned and find out where I follow Him next.

May you have a blessed and peace filled Thanksgiving-full of thankfulness, love and peace.
