Fear of the unknown is the greatest fear. What if this or that happens? What will others think or how could I ever go there or do that? These questions of doubt feed the fear of the unknown. None of knows what will happen tomorrow, the next day or the rest of our lives. Yet we still wonder, let doubts creep in and possibly let fear hold us back from the plan God has for us. So how do we conquer this fear? By allowing our faith to overcome the fear.
In this month’s Bible study we discuss a few of the many times God reminds us to “do not be afraid” in the Bible. God’s recurring encouragement to not fear occurs frequently when His people need it most: when they fear the unknown. Often times, His admonition to not be afraid is followed by an encouragement to deeper faith. He wants us to go deeper, step out of our comfort zones and have faith. Faith in Him will always conquer any fear of the unknown.
