Serve only the Lord your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him. ~Deuteronomy 13:4 NLT
The Bible is full of ways to listen, lead our lives and walk in His ways. God provides opportunities each day to hear Him. But today, we tend to listen more to others than the Almighty. We care more about ourselves and what others think than what God wants for us and this world. We put our circumstances and wants above His will for our lives. The noise of this world should not receive more of our time and energy than listening and heeding the Words and directions of our Creator and Savior.
Seeking and listening to God is innate in each of us, it’s an ability He gives to us as His children. Let’s not lose track of the ability to hear His voice. It can have eternal consequences. When we take time each day to seek and hear His voice we create and hone a habit which will serve us well into eternity.
Jesus tells us we are His sheep and we can hear Him, our Good Shepherd’s voice. For this month’s Bible study let’s focus on listening to God: how we do it, what it gives us and why it’s important. Be still, know and listen to God. Click on the link below for the Bible Study: Listen to God.
