The kingdom of God is…living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. ~Romans 14: 17
In the midst of our busy schedules, feelings and plans, God’s Word reminds us of what’s important.
Our life should not revolve around our wants, desires and to-do lists, but most days it does. God sent Jesus to live the perfect life and die a death meant for all of us. Jesus completed His task and we celebrate His life, death & resurrection on Easter. But we promptly return to our busy lives on Monday morning.
This month’s Bible study is a continuation of last month’s study of Romans. We’ll review select verses reminding us to keep Easter’s impact and importance foremost in our lives.
In the harried moments when we want to live, respond and focus on ourselves, Paul’s letter to the Romans reminds us how to live as children of God. When we obey God’s word and not our feelings, our lives and attitudes shift to one of peace and joy as described in the verse above. As Paul reminds us in Romans 15 verse 3, even Christ didn’t live to please Himself. Neither should we. May this month’s study help to remind us all how to live daily as God’s children in this world.
